Cisco Internetwork Expert Routing & Switching 1
Standard Price: $ 4195.00
Course Length: 5 days
In this comprehensive two-day course containing hands-on labs, demos, and presentations, you will learn to install, configure, operate, and maintain the S-Series web security appliances. You will focus on HTTP and HTTPS proxy services, L4 traffic monitoring, authentication and web access control, URL filtering, anti-malware filtering, troubleshooting S-Series configuration issues, and S-Series deployment. You will also see how the WSA is used in a SAAS scenario (Security-As-A-Service) and how Cisco WSA can inspect HTTPS traffic. Hands-on labs provide you with a safe environment to experiment with malware and attempt configurations that might not be appropriate for a production network.
This lab-intensive course introduces you to the open source Snort technology as well as rule writing. You will learn how to build and manage a Snort system using open source tools, plug-ins, as well as the Snort rule language to help manage, tune, and deliver feedback on suspicious network activity.
This course combines lecture materials and hands-on labs throughout to make sure that you are able to construct a solid, secure Snort installation and write Snort rules using proper syntax and structure.
The Cisco Security Monitoring Analysis and Response System (CS-MARS) is part of the Cisco Security Management Suite which provides security monitoring for network security devices and host application made by Cisco or non-Cisco providers. In addition to event correlation and data reduction features found in SIM products, CS-MARS also provides topology awareness and automatic mitigation features. In knowing the topology of a network, CS-MARS can determine where the attack is originating and apply the appropriate remediation. CS-MARS is a key component in the Cisco Self Defending Network strategy. CS-MARS exchanges information with CS-Manager to provide a unified security management solution. For example, an administrator can view IPS signatures or the Firewall block / permit syslog messages received from sensors or firewalls. CS-MARS will communicate with CS-Manager and display the IPS signature table or firewall rule table. From there the IPS signature or firewall rule can be modified as necessary. Together CS-MARS and CS-Manager provide a unified management solution for monitoring and provisioning.
Using real-world scenarios and examples, you will explore all the components of the FlexPod system and walk through installing, managing, and troubleshooting the platform as a whole as well as all of the individual Cisco, NetApp, and VMware components.
