Data Modeling with Infosphere Data Architect using IBM Rational Team Concert

In this course, you will learn to use InfoSphere Data Architect to build logical and physical data models and to employ the physical design functions. Additional IBM tools are incorporated in the course to allow students to understand information integration capabilities. Integration with Rational Team Architect is also included to demonstrate how this tools works within a configuration environment.

  • Data modelers
  • Physical database designers
  • Application analysts
  • Database administrators
  • Personnel who need to perform logical and physical modeling and associated functions as provided by InfoSphere Data Architect

Learning Objectives

  • Use the Eclipse interface to employ InfoSphere Data Architect functions
  • Given a logical model, use InfoSphere Data Architect to create packages, diagrams, and additional model metadata
  • Show the InfoSphere Data Architect functionality for Web publishing and reporting in various formats
  • Use the logical model documented with InfoSphere Data Architect to produce a physical model and related database DDL, DML, and DCL
  • Use InfoSphere Data Architect to create a physical model from existing models and DDL, and participate in using IBM Data Studio to extend design database administration
  • Build dimensional models from the existing logical and physical models
  • Mapping models within IDA and other Information Server tools
  • InfoSphere Data Architect capabilities to provide collaborative support and configuration management using Rational Team Concert
